Fire Department
The East Hanover Fire Department was founded in 1927, a successor to Hanover Neck Hook and Ladder. Presently, there are 35 active firemen. Several of them are considered auxiliary members; all of them are volunteers. the Fire Prevention Bureau is allied to the Department and does the inspections in town.
There are eight fire trucks: one aerial ladder, an engine truck equipped with a "snozzle," three pumpers, a command/rescue truck, a rescue pumper, and a utility truck. There are also three cars assigned to the fire prevention bureau.
All of the men receive training at the Morris County Police and Fire Academy. They also hold drills and training sessions with in-house instructors.
